The Cult of Amen-Ra , by Bretticus

Author's Description:

The Cult of Amen-Ra
“Restoring the Old Faith”

When I began composing this scenario, I did not realize that others, primarily Imhotep II (whose scenario is wonderful – you should check it out if you have not done so yet), were delving into this portion of Egyptian History. I have been rather pleased to see that we have all designed different situations, nevertheless, and hope that you enjoy them all!

It is the year 1307 B.C., and the end of the 18th Dynasty has been marked by the downfall of Ai and Horemhab. Ramesses I has seized power and begins the tumultuous period that is the 19th Dynasty.
The Egyptian capital, once located at Khut-Aten under the influence of Amenhetep IV, has been once again moved to Thebes by Tut-ankh-Amen (the son of Amenhetep III and his concubine) and the bodies of the monotheistic rulers worshipping Aten have been transferred to the Valley of the Kings. Although the priests of Thebes, who lost much of their control and influence during the rule of Amenhetep IV, have reintroduced the worship of Amen-Ra throughout the kingdom, there is much unruliness among citizens and neighboring kingdoms. These priests, who see themselves literally as rulers via their relatively easy control over the Pharaoh, have no tolerance for deviance and will stop at nothing to prevent others from breaking with the ancient ways. Nevertheless, a small group of priests has broken away from the relentless grasp of the Theban priests and wish to establish their own cult of Amen-Ra in the city of Heliopolis, the traditional home of Ra, the Deity of the Sun and the supposed Father of the Gods. In this pleasant environment, they wish to cultivate a more peaceful religious overtone. However, this will not be easy. Many Egyptian cities will test your loyalty through extortion and may attack your beloved Heliopolis at any time because of your insurrection. The Nubians, observing this internal strife from the South and dreaming of vast empires, will try to take advantage of the situation by invading your territory. Finally, beware of the Greeks to the North – although Mycenae is one your richest trade cities, its people’s loyalties are easily swayed and they may grow angry at your defiance of Aowvis, their equivalent of Aten. Establish a new home for the benevolent Amen-Ra, defend it against your enemies, raise 3 Sun Temples to honor him, and do so in the course of 17 years.

This is my first scenario, so please send any feedback you wish!

Firts thanks for the statement on my scenario :-) well its the first ever :-(
I have just started your scenario, the map is tricky but i like it :-)
anyone who start this watch for places to build warharbours warfts and docks, there are only 9 to do so, so don`t get anything else on them :-) also the connection between the city parts :-) well You´ll see bout that :-) yust search and You´ll find the spots.
As for history well fits perfect in the new kingdom chronicles :-) (although i`d like to now if something like this took place back then? if so i want to know! :-)
As for the Game will be real challenging to build all the sun-Temples in only 17 years i hope I´ll be up to the task i`m tring on normal difficulty.
But seems to be a good scenario, i`ll enjoy playing it
