Author's
Description:
This scenario places you in the Sinai desert in 378 B.C.,
and requires that you survive 58 years. Omens suggest the
end of Egypt and its subjugation to foreign culture for
millenia, should you fail. Initially, your task will be
easy, but ever-greater force will be brought to bear
against you. Will you be the wall of adamant against
which the hordes break in vain, or a tower of sand, swept
away by the tides of war?
You will also find that you should not neglect the
well-being of other cities, for without them, you have no
access to some of the goods you require. As for the
defence of the rest of Egypt: that too is your responsibility,
though it is unlikely that anything serious will occur
should you occasionally be remiss in your duties away from
the main front. For more detail, please refer to the
scenario text in the zip file.
Difficulty comments: Novices may wish to use the mission
editor to downgrade the attackers from Hyksos to
Canaanites: this will make the later years a great deal
easier to survive. In addition, I suggest Very Easy /
Easy. Intermediate level players may wish to use Easy /
Normal settings. Experts may wish to try it at Hard,
you should have the patience, ability and means to build
the greatest and most intricate fortifications the world
will ever see. I suspect that only the really mad
should undertake the scenario at Very Hard difficulty.
