Pirates of Perwadjyt , by Keith Heitmann

Scenario ID = 45
Date Submitted = 2000-05-11

Author's Description:

250BC, humid climate, enormous land, heavy military activity, very hard mission.

O, Royal Mayor, Pharaoh has chosen you to carry out a difficult and dangerous mission. Pirates have been raiding the trade ships coming and going from Egypt. They grow bolder each year and now threaten shipping at will. Your task is to build a city on the small group of islands near the mouth of the Nile and defend your city and the trade ships from the pirate raids. You must also build a grand pyramid complex and a large obelisk to show these pirates the power and grandeur of Pharaoh's Egypt that they might cower in fear of his might. As a reward, Pharaoh has granted that you may also build yourself a small pyramid for your own burial tomb.

Your city is besieged. The pirate ships while small in number are more than a match for your warships. Do not take them lightly. There is ample material available for trade and construction, although you will still have to trade for other goods.

Unfortunately, Pharaoh requires all his troops for other areas of unrest so you must defend your city with your warships, walls and armed towers only. On occasion Pharaoh may request military aid from you. Do not disappoint him for his patience is short and his wrath terrible. Remember that only a small land force will be required to wreak havoc upon your city.

Your trading allies and Pharaoh can be generous should you fulfill their many requests in a timely manner. Favor is hard to curry and quick to vanish.

Victory in this mission will be a long long hard fought battle battle.

Plan well, o, chosen one. Pharaoh is watching.

You must attain:

40 culture
40 prosperity
63 monument
60 kingdom
5,000 population
20 modest apartments

(SPECIAL NOTE: This mission is not for beginners, but rather the fool hardy experienced players. While you have no companies of troops, you still must fulfill the military aid requests of Pharaoh. I will let you figure that one out. This is a very long and difficult mission and may consume a hundred hours to complete more or less. The presure only lifts periodically for brief periods so enjoy your brief stints of rest. Military action in this mission relies not so much on size, but frequency. Your naval forces will be hard pressed. - Keith )
