Author's Description:

Trade Wars by Stringbags

"Those damn hippos have frightened everyone away, those they haven't eaten that is. How am I supposed to finish these monuments without labour? We have managed to start one small obelisk, but the pharaoh wants one either side of the gate and we have run out of granite and wood, and where are we supposed to fit a large obelisk?"

"The pharaoh has demanded a prosperous citadel here in Perwadjyt and all we have is marshland and hippos, even our foriegn rivals are taking the rise, have you seen what they want to open trade negotiations? I think it's time we showed those foriegn infidels who is boss around here"


Start 2050 BC a garrison has already been established and the game is in .sav format.

Start funds 14250 Debens
Bail out loan 5000 Debens

Tips:

Be timely with requests or your kingdom rating will take big hits and protect your best buildings, rebuilding options are limited.

There is a bug in the game that causes the Libyan transport ships to stick at the invasion points, see the thread "Sea invasion problems" in the map editor forum for an explanation.

You have done it again Stringbags! An excellent scenario that will test even the best players.
I liked the way that building space is limited making you think really hard about where to build, the way you have set out the floodplains so that access is limited to certain areas and the use of the little "creeks".
Trade was hard to exploit so making money was a bit of an issue.
This is probably not much of an in-depth critic, but I reckon most people will find this an extremely challenging and rewarding game.

Wow this is really a great map it has everything:
- a great map-design, asking for small new housingblocks.
- a good story, which fits the requests.
- Unexpected (at least for me) invasions and requests.

This mission is a bit militaristic but not to much (not Thinis (MK) level).
