Nekhen Fortress Comp., by Tryhard

Scenario ID = 186
Date Submitted = 2002-04-21

Author's Description:

This is a competition designed scenario. You can play at 3 levels: Normal, Hard and Very hard. There are 3 files so you must choose the file you open accordingly.
You start in January 1335 with an empty fortress. You have twenty years. On January 1315, an Hyksos army, 300 big, will attack from the North-East. Useless to say that you cannot defeat them. Let them run to one bridge then destroy the bridges. Under constant fire from the tower, they will eventually leave (so between April and July). When one sees the lasts of them on the escape, the game has to be stopped and your achievements are assessed.
There is no winning condition but there are are some clear rules:
- You can never build any building of any kind outside the wall (on the small island, yes you can).
- You cannot modify the walls, towers, bridges and gates in any way
- You cannot move the fort. You will be asked for a maritime request on Year 10, one infantry regiment is enough. If you fail to send them, Pharaoh will invade you from the river and will land with 100 troops in the fortress. You do not need to build any other troop fort.
- You must build the pyramid within the walls

Specifities of the mission are: no warship, no waterlift, no Senet but the zoos, 3 types of food (grain, game, fish), 3 deities (Ra, Ptah, Seth) with 3 possible temple complexes.

The assessment of the game is arbitrary. You are governor so you decide what rule should apply to your city. You can choose to play on these criteria:
- Perfect coverages
- Highest income and resources
- Pyramid fastest completion
- Desirability (beautiful city)
- Highest population possible
- Highest level of housing possible
- Any other criterium you judge relevant

Player Comment by Tryhard:

I uploaded 3 games for the 3 levels. Angel Draco seems to have seen them as one. Fair enough, in fact, as there is no winning you will not risk being told that you perform at a level lower than the one played. If you want to play at Hard, open the game, move the level up using the Menu and save it immediately, you will so play at Hard.
