The plot of "Wrath of Pharaoh" is:
The player's father was sent by Pharaoh as Vizier to build a new city at Abu/Elephantine
(or, considering the year, to rebuild it), but has fallen under suspicion of plotting with
the Nubians to either make an independent Kingdom at Abu or to overthrow Pharaoh and take
his place.
The player's father has suffered an unfortunate accident (i.e. he's dead), but Pharaoh has
decided to give the player the oppurtunity to clear the Family Name by completing the
building of Abu and demonstrating loyalty to Pharaoh. (The Kingdom Rating percentage
starts low to simulate this cloud of suspicion).
The colonization of Abu has angered the Kushites, who can be counted upon to attack the
city. If the player's KR percentage falls to 0%, Pharaoh will take this as proof of
disloyalty and will attack. On top of this, Pharaoh is unhappy with the progress at Abu --
the city is massively in dept and has large areas of sub-standard housing, and Ra and Ptah
are not happy campers at Abu.
This scenario is actually a saved game, which was run for 4 game years to get it to the
starting conditions. It is intended to be an interesting challenge, but not too difficult
(and certainly not impossible). It may possibly seen too easy to experienced players.
The monuments at this city are two (duplicated) Small Pyramids, which are completed, two
(duplicated) Mausoleums, which are placed, but not completed, and a Large Pyramid, which
has not been started.
NOTE: Until both Mausoleums are completed, they will "look" as if no work is
being done, but clicking on them will verify that they are nearing completion.
I don't think this scenario is "very
easy," it's only that when I uploaded it, I didn't change that field in the
submission form (since it said "Cities Only"). This scenario is meant to be an
interesting challenge, but not exceedingly difficult. Part of the challenge is to recover
from city planning which s starting down a bad path.
I meant to have one or two infantry forts placed abd to have built all the towers I'd
placed walls for, but even with the initial allocation of 75K deben, I still managed to go
5K into debt, and just couldn't get it done in time.
And I also didn't intend to develop the city to the point I did. Wwhile at the same time,
I intended to evolve the houses near the Mansion into Manors (it can be done by removing
the wells near them, they're ready), but even with all that population, there just weren't
enough free workers to allow it.
