Djedu (Abusir)--Progressive NOT final map.
This is a bit different, cause it isn't a finished map, but a progressive save. I think it will be useful, because this has the Sun Temple and that is a one of a kind.
Interesting map, working both sides of the Nile and some unconnected parts of those! The objective here is to build the Sun Temple, which has got to be the prettiest monument, so far. I got so busy watching it go up, the city was in danger of falling apart :)
The map for downloading is NOT finished as the Victory map will not show you anything about how to get the Sun Temple built--- and that is why I would think you would want to look at the map. It is a save from July 2459, just as the Sun Temple is 98% complete, with the requisite storage yards and masons still in place. Once the expense and labor involved in the monument construction is over, you will need to delete those structures and use the labor to evolve the houses and expand the industry.
Basic strategy was to concentrate the land industry on the western side, Dunqul Oasis is your only source of sandstone and it makes sense to not haul sandstone across the Nile. They will also buy your papyrus, so that can get you started.
On will buy wood by water trade, I exported from the little bit in the south from the very start. This is a money-making map, you shouldn't have any trouble financing your imports. I had problems getting the wood over to the West Bank for scaffolding in the Sun Temple, but I think it was more the 'loss of labor' in the "getting" storage yard than a design flaw.
More trade routes open, I just tried to keep the industries using the imports on the same side of the Nile as the goods came in. This may not be the best choice, as it was difficult to get the beer and luxury goods over to the East bank. Food was not a problem here, you can hunt birds, raise cattle and farm grain. Oh, yes, and fish. Never seen much profit in exporting food, so I didn't. Also, didn't want a dock on the west bank. At the point of this saved game, there are too many farms.
The biggest challenge was evolving the houses to the Manor level and not losing it all with the labor drop. But, that is always a challenge. I didn't use the concentric housing blocks here, I have had better luck with a center garden strip and services on the outside. I use a 2x2 house on an outside road to provide labor to industry, but still had to resort to tents in some places. In case you wanted to know the final results were:
Culture: 45 two extra years raised to 50
