A fun level -- challenging at first, as maintaining cash flow is difficult, but not too difficult to keep trade running. An aborted attempt which ended with an invasion by Pharoah (just as I was getting out of debt!) caused me to be more circumspect in building the city. Started with two 7x22 blocks, near the monument and the meadowlands. First used pottery and beer to get some debens. The market commands made it very easy to restrict development and save goods for export until the city got on its feet. The export goods financed the mining operation -- normally I'm dead set against access tents, but the gold seemed to be to far in the desert to create a solid housing block that would give the mines labor access. If anybody accomplished this, may Ra bless you! After about 4 years labor became tight, so I built the 6x22 block. After this the level was pretty much finished -- had some trouble with maintaining raw material imports later in the level, (the dock layout is clearly not the best) but no goods shortages occurred, just had to postpone development of the third housing block. Started building the manor block around year 8 which soaked up some unemployment after the quarriers finished their work late in year 9. Still took 2 more years for workers to keep climbing the monument and finish it.
