Bubastis: City to Bast, by wsmit99

Author's Description:

This is my completed city of Bubastis. It's set to govern for 2 more years.
High levels of prosperity and culture were needed on a reasonably small map. I therefore decided to keep my city small. I started my city to the southeast near the marshlands, because papyrus would be the first best thing I could export to generate income. In my layout I left many gaps for later construction of booths, bandstands and pavilions to reach that culture rating of 85. I set up my industry quickly to make my housing evolve and to generate more money. I wanted to make my housing of a fairly high quality, because space was limited and I wanted to construct a compact city. In the end I had to build another colony to the north for additional employees for the required libraries.
In the beginning I built a navy of two warships to fend off the enemy at Gaza. They succeeded and the trade route could be opened.
When my city was up and running I designed a housing block which would eventually consist of four palatial estates.
The import of granite was stated early to complete the two obelisks quickly. It was actually my kingdom rating that was achieved last! It's not that I didn't meet the request or anything, but I just didn't encounter many of them. No requests, no rising kingdom rating.
You may see that I'm not producing enough food to feed all my people. I had a solution though... Bast can help you out here. By throwing lavish festivals frequently, she blessed my houses and bazaars with plenty of food!
On final note: it's a Cleopatra file! This means I had to build a zoo to achieve the culture rating. If you don't own Cleo, you might have problems opening it.
Well, that's it, enjoy the city.

Greetings from Holland
