Author's Description:

I decided to concentrate a little more on speed with this one, and leave all my housing at Ordinary Cottage. My results weren't exactly record-breaking, but were at least respectable. I started with three areas of housing: a quarter of a housing block on the western bank near the reed beds, six tiles on the eastern bank near the larger reed bed (to man the ferry), and a full housing block near the entry point. I added six farms to the small piece of farmland on the west bank (four flax, two barley), and later added a couple of weavers, a brewer, amnd some reed gatherers and papyrus makers down south. I used the bailout to open the trade route to Timna, and started exporting like a madman. I also added a shipwright and some fishing wharves near the housing block in the north. Linen, beer, and papyrus production were increased to maximum possible during year two. At the end of year two, I used my annual surplus to lay down my entire road network on the eastern bank, and start my third housing block over there. I added another few flax farms and a second linen industry. I started my fifth and final housing block, and placed my dock for the first time. I opened a further trade route to Nubt, and started importing straw and clay. I also placed the Mastabas at this point.

Having managed to forget to connect the western and eastern banks, I briefly fell foul of the 'stuck trader' bug. having sorted that out, I continued to expand as funds permitted, finally adding a palace and tax collectors (perhaps a little late), and enlarging my brick industry at every available opportunity.

With all my housing at ordinary cottage, and 30 brickworks on the go, I decided to start attending to my culture rating. I added a bunch of pavilions and bandstands to my housing blocks, a few dentists, and some scribal schools.

Finishing statistics:

Population: 4600 (I lost a couple of houses near the end due to a freak fire... irritating)
Prosperity: 30
Culture: 35 (no mortuaries)
Favour: 73
Monument: 17
Time: 119 months
All available Culture buildings had 'perfect' ratings. All houses had access to a Scribal School, and all except my small colony by the eastern reed bed had access to all available forms of entertainment.

No salary was taken, and no gifts were given.
