City needs one grave good to be dispatched to complete.
One thing I did this time, was limit the connections across the Nile. Fishing was done on the center Island, and it has manned ferries to the East side only to feed them fish. They would have starved otherwise. The other side I held back at below beer level for the longest time and let them make bricks and pottery for export. They got real fat, eating figs and grain.
I skipped over a spot on the West side and set up the meadowland farms and ferried that over to the fish eaters. But that was later in the game, as food was a problem in the beginning. Be sure to check out the water lift connection for the meadowland farms, it is a neat trick if you haven't seen it before.
So pretty soon everybody is stuffed and I have all my land traders on one side only and it worked pretty well. I built the little pyramid first, it goes up quick, then started importing the sandstone. That dang sandstone comes in only 40 blocks a year no matter how nice you are to Ra. Once I had a full yard catch on fire; I was so upset.
And two naval battles, the first one I got lucky on... I had three war ships, and the second time they landed twice before I could kill them. I just go back to the save, I not a purist to try to recover from that! Think I was making that too hard, when I finally was successful it was because I kinda stood back and let them do their thing. One thing I would do differently... the shipwrights are on the island, and that is efficient for getting your fishing ships up and out to the river. But, building warships was a different story. The wood has to come from your imported wood storage yard, which you want close to the monument. And it took a long time to move it down to the island; the stonemasons were irate about the carpenter holding them up.
